The Dão's Red Wine Mariposa is naturally made, preserving to the maximum the natural aroma of the castes and the natural sourness of this region’s grapes. It’s wanted light and fresh, to consume young, but being from Dão has a good evolution in bottle. It’s a modern wine that perfectly demonstrates the region’s character.
Winemaking: The grapes were manually harvested into 20kg small boxes, with selection in the vineyard. The lot composition varies with each castes’ production in the vineyard. After total destemming, the grapes go to a traditional granite press, where they will macerate for 48 hours, with controlled temperature. The fermentation is slow and is under controlled temperature and the remakes are made on foot. This wine stages for 1 year on used barrels of 225 and 500L French oak.
Wood box with 3 bottles.
